About this Event
Maybe you don't consider yourself an artist officially, but you might find yourself a little more creative with the right blend of liquid courage, or more. As someone who is an artist and also six+ years sober, Sarah Shoulak (KALUOHS) talks about how creativity is linked to addiction and how it can be hard to have honest discussions about substance abuse when you feel its so connected to your identity and your art.
Not a certified therapist or counselor, but sharing personal experiences and tips from an educational standpoint.
$20
Sarah Shoulak is known around the Orlando scene as KALUOHS and has worn many hats as a creative entrepreneur. Her consulting business has had her painting murals, bodies, faces, and any other surface she can get her hands on; partnering with names like Side Hustle Syrups, the Orlando City Soccer Club, Atlas Obscura/Delta Airlines, and more. She also served as the Curry Ford West Executive Director and was previously a college professor at both Valencia and FIU in Miami after graduating from the University of Miami with her Master's in Communication Studies. She now spends her free time creating an alcohol-free community called The Shirley Temple Society which hosts parties for "Sober Betties" (and Buddys) dressed in their finest dapper, retro, pinup threads.
