About this Event
About the Speaker
Neysa Herrera is a local government leader, economic development strategist, and entrepreneur whose life and work are rooted in resilience, purpose, and community impact. Originally from Cartagena, Colombia, her journey as an immigrant has deeply shaped her worldview — strengthening her adaptability, and commitment to creating opportunities for others.
She currently serves as the Economic Development Director for the City of Oakland Park, where she leads initiatives that support small businesses, revitalize commercial corridors, and foster inclusive and sustainable growth. Drawing from her lived experience, Neysa brings a unique, people-centered approach to economic development — one that values cultural identity, access, and empowerment as essential drivers of thriving communities.
Beyond her public-sector leadership, Neysa is the founder of Visit Colombia and Wanderlust Travel & Retreats, where she curates transformational travel experiences rooted in culture, intention, and personal growth. Her work bridges economic development, entrepreneurship, and mindfulness, demonstrating how aligned leadership and creativity can generate meaningful, lasting impact.
A passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and authentic leadership, Neysa speaks on purpose-driven work, resilience, and the power of aligning passion with service. Through her talks, she inspires audiences to embrace their stories, reconnect with their creativity, and design lives and careers that reflect both intention and impact.

CreativeZen is a FREE monthly breakfast lecture series presented by Choose954, a division of The UniteUs Group, hosted in partnership with Zero Empty Spaces.
Held on the second Friday morning of each month, these inspiring gatherings feature local voices sharing heartfelt stories of creativity, purpose, and reinvention — all designed to uplift and unite our community.
✨ Being creative is not required. Being inspired is guaranteed.
CreativeZen was born out of a desire for Choose954 to connect, engage, and inspire our local creative community with support from Zero Empty Spaces & The UniteUs Group. We open the doors 30 minutes before the talk starts to mix, meet, and mingle with fellow likeminded members of our community.
Every Creative Zen event includes a complimentary guided meditation before a short inspiring and thought provoking talk during the second Friday morning of the month. All Creative Zen events are free of charge and open to the community, being creative is not required!
