Creatives' Pier (August) | Open Mic & Artist Showcase

It’s year four of taking Creatives’ OUTSIDE to Venice Island Performing Arts Center. We can't wait for our second Creatives’ “Pier” of the season on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024

"Doors" open at 6:45 PM to give attendees a chance to check in, drop their names in the various buckets to perform (if you so desire) & find a place to settle in for the night. Make sure to bring your own chair or blanket to be more comfortable for the show.

Open Mic Incognito Features Details

If you’re hoping to perform you need to arrive absolutely no later than 7:05 PM. We'll draw the first set of names of performers LOTTERY STYLE at 7:10 PM & the first performance will be at 7:15 PM.

We’ll do a second drawing before our brief intermission at 8:15 PM to find out who’s closing out the event!

We will have incognito features performing throughout the night.

Open Mic selections are made at random from the various buckets of artistry displayed as you enter the space. We will select 1-2 artists from each “genre” to be able to perform on the lineup. The night is designed intentionally to be cross-genre. We'll likely have time for 8-10 open artists total to perform one piece each.

If we’re ahead of schedule we always try to pull more names.

Parking/Food

Parking is available at Venice Island with Kiosks at either end of the parking lot for just a few dollars. Public Transit is available to get there as well. Also within walking distance, Manayunk's Main Street boasts dozens of great restaurants to grab food from to enjoy on premises during the event or head to after the show.

Rain/Heat Location

If we need to move Creatives’ Pier due to rain or a severe heat index our alternative location is inside Venice Island’s state of the art theatre on location. Rain or shine we’ll be hosting this years August show at Venice!
