Drawing from a life of music, travel, and creative exploration, Charles will be sharing insights on this month’s global theme: “NOMAD.”Charles’s career has taken him from earning his M.A. in music at UH to winning a Grammy, earning multiple nominations, topping the Billboard charts, and receiving numerous local music awards. His work has been heard all over the world—from hit TV shows like NCIS, Magnum PI, and Black-ish to acclaimed albums in genres spanning acoustic island music, rock, pop, and beyond. As founder of Lava Tracks Recording Studio and Palm Records, Charles has helped shape the sound of Hawai‘i, producing music for his acclaimed acoustic guitar trio “Kohala” and many other artists. He also leads Creative Lab Hawai‘i’s Music Immersive and serves on the board of the Hawai‘i Songwriting Festival.
