The Hood College MFA in Creative Writing welcomes Robert Eversz and Steven Leyva as guest writers for a free poetry and fiction literature reading in the Black Box Theatre within the Tatem Arts Center.
Robert Eversz has been a writer and educator for decades, both in the U.S. and internationally. He is the author of six novels, including the popular Nina Zero series, and his work has been translated into 15 languages.
Eversz is a founder of the Prague Summer Program, the nation’s oldest study-abroad program for creative writers in the English language. Eversz also teaches workshops at the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program.
Steven Leyva is a Baltimore-based poet and professor. He is the author of Low Parish and The Understudy’s Handbook, which won the Jean Feldman Poetry Prize. His latest collection, The Opposite of Cruelty, is forthcoming from Blair Publishing in spring 2025. Leyva earned his MFA from the University of Baltimore, where he is currently an associate professor in the Klein Family School of Communications Design.
