The Work
Screenwriting is the art and craft of writing scripts for audiovisual media, including film and television. Screenwriting is the marriage between an actor and filmmaker, because without a script, a cinematic masterpiece can’t be created or shown to an audience.
Creative Writing for the Screen is a two-hour, four-week class where you will learn the ins and outs of formatting a script, brainstorming, outlining, and pitching. During each two-hour session, you will learn how to write for the visual medium of film and pitch your script. In addition, you receive peer and instructor feedback on your original script and pitch decks.
The Result: At the end of the course, you will walk away with a short film script you’ve written and a pitch deck ready to show to producers and other filmmakers for collaboration.

Instructor Spotlight
Dorian Alexsis is a BFA graduate from Columbia College Hollywood, where she studied cinema. Over her 16-year career, she has studied at multiple performing arts schools, honing her skills and attaining awards for her works in film festivals, theater competitions, and a 3 time award winner of the NAACP-ACTSO competition. With her unique perspective of working in front and behind the camera, she looks forward to teaching her students how to create while keeping all creatives in mind.
