Creative Workshops @ Surface Gallery - DAY 2 - Saturday 30th May

Let's transform our alleyway into a vibrant canvas for this year's Street Art Festival! We're raising funds to give the space a fresh coat of paint, and we'd love your help. Entry is completely free, but we invite you to make a suggested donation of £5, or simply pay what you can to support the art.

Ready to turn blank pages into emotions and expressions?

Dive into the timeless world of portrait drawing! This isn't just a sketch session - it's a study of human connection where every line helps to capture features . Prior experience or skill not required - your workshop lead will guide you at each step!

If you want to BYO materials:

• Pencils, erasers, charcoal and pastels
• Reference photos or sketches to personalize your creation

Quick note: We'll have plenty of paper and pencils ready for you to start sketching immediately!

Drop into this hands-on, no-pressure zine workshop and leave with something you created from scratch. Collage, draw, paste, fold - we'll cover the basics of layout, storytelling, and that beautiful DIY aesthetic.

What to expect: A supportive and encouraging environment, lots of experimentation, and space to riff on your own ideas. No prior experience needed.

Feel free to bring:

• Magazine clippings or printed images
• Stamps, stickers, washi tape
• Markers, pens, scissors

We'll have basics covered, but personal touches make zines extra special.

Heads up: Scissors and cutting tools will be used. Pass them handle-first and keep blades closed when not in hand.
