About this Event
13.00 -15.30 on 12 & 13 November
Introduction into relief and intaglio collagraph printing, making a series of prints that draw inspiration from the Mulberry Gardens. Over the weekend , we'll focus creating collagraph plates using simple found materials, textured papers, glue, resins and more. Learning how to ink and wipe back the plate in order to make a series of successful prints, explore texture and layers and have fun creating the plates using simple and accessible materials.
This is a highly experimental, versatile and fun type of printmaking that has no limits and is a great introduction into printing for those who have no prior experience in art. The results can be very surprising – and a great method to create abstract or representational images.
Artist Charlotte Cranidge regularly creates and delivers a range of arts projects for people of all ages and abilities that experiment with creative processes and encourage social interaction. She specialises in creating conversational sessions, delivering creative practical workshops and participatory projects. Her focus is to deliver programmes and events that focus storytelling, playfulness, inquisitiveness and experimentation - asking participants to engage in multiple processes to create their own works.
Presently, Charlotte’s practice focuses more on a broader range of materials and working collaboratively with communities. Focusing more on the outcomes that emerge from basic materials, adopting non-conventional treatments of materials and aesthetic potential. However, the roots of her practice lie in painting and printmaking – specialisms she frequently returns too.
