Join artist Susan Palys for an immersive workshop exploring creative watercolor textures! Whether you're an experienced painter or just starting out, this class is for you. Discover the secrets of dry paper and wet paper brush techniques, masking techniques and different textures you can make using brushes, plastic, sponges and spatters.
Since painting is such a personal activity and there is such a large variety of materials available, no supplies will be provided. Instead, students are asked to purchase or bring materials that meet their individual tastes. See the back for the Supply List. Please feel free to bring a beverage and/or something to snack on.
Growing up in Western New York, Susan Palys trained as an Art Educator at SUNY Buffalo College. She taught art in many venues while working in the public sector. Upon retiring, she dedicated herself to pursuing her studio practice full time, focusing on creating evocative, intuitive landscapes and floral paintings in watercolor and mixed media that offer moments of renewal and inspiration.
Pursuing continual artistic growth, Susan participates in & exhibits with many Buffalo art organizations and has achieved Juried Artist status in the Arts & Craftsmen Guild of the historic Roycroft Campus, Exhibiting Member status in the Buffalo Society of Artists and Signature Member status in the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society. She is honored to have a solo exhibition of her art, “Blooming Colors” at the Archangel Gallery of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens in May of 2025.
