The National Public Galleries Summit is a biennial event designed to bring together artists, arts workers, volunteers, academics and other professionals working in the gallery and visual arts sectors. In 2023 the event is called Creative Spaces and will be hosed by the Regional Galleries Association SA in Adelaide South Australia.
Creative Spaces aims to interrogate the role of galleries as more than places where exhibitions happen. Public and community galleries throughout Australia provide opportunities for social connection and celebration, career development and creative industries incubation, place activation and education. They inspire innovation and contribute to the cultural and economic strength of cities and towns both large and small.
