Create a portrait that shows your essence, not just your face
About this Event

What does your soul look like? In this imaginative 3-hour workshop, you'll create a self-portrait using cut paper, drawing, and collage. Instead of drawing your face, you'll respond to thought-prompts and make something that captures who you are: a landscape, an object, an animal, an abstract form. The point isn't realism—it's realization.

What You'll Learn:

  • Moving beyond literal self-representation
  • Using symbols and metaphor in visual storytelling
  • Cut paper, collage, and drawing techniques
  • How to layer meaning into artwork

What You’ll Make:

One creative self-portrait (size and format up to you) that may continue beyond the workshop. We provide prompts to spark ideas, but the direction is entirely yours.

What’s Included:

All materials including paper, cardstock, scissors, glue, drawing supplies, and collage materials. Thought-prompts and guidance throughout.

Important: This is a process-focused workshop. You might not finish your portrait in 3 hours—and that's perfect. The goal is to explore and begin your piece; many participants continue at home and create something even richer.

Perfect For:

Anyone who's ever thought “I can't draw,” creative explorers, people wanting to try something different, anyone ready to think beyond the expected.

Wear comfortable shoes. Bring an open mind and willingness to play.

Class size limited to 6 participants.

No prior experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
