Take a river walk with a difference and see King’s Lynn’s watery routes with artist James Aldridge and Norfolk Rivers Trust’s Tim Fisher
About this Event

The walk will begin at Groundwork Gallery, to view the Ground Up exhibition, and hear from Artist James Aldridge about his wall-based installation The Beaver and the Whale. James’s artwork draws on his experience of the Rivers Gaywood and Nar, as part of an artist’s residency with the gallery in Summer 2024.

Tim Fisher, Education and Engagement Team Leader at The Norfolk Rivers Trust, will introduce the work of the Trust, and together with James will lead us on a walk that takes in the Rivers Great Ouse and Nar, before following the Gaywood into town.

Participants will be provided with art materials to record their journey, with support from James, inspired by his artwork in the exhibition, and informed by information about its history and ecology. Together we will walk, talk and make, sharing what we notice, and learning about the issues faced by Norfolk’s rivers.

We will stop at The Walks where we will have time and space to develop our artwork further, before returning to the Gallery.
