Learn creative quilting in this 2-part workshop. Design, piece, and finish your own small quilt while exploring patterns and improvisation.
About this Event

This two-part workshop introduces participants to the foundations of quilting through both traditional techniques and creative exploration.

Drawing from historic quilt patterns, participants will learn how to reinterpret these structures into their own contemporary textile piece. The workshop emphasizes improvisation, composition, and personal expression—aligning with approaches where quilting is both functional and artistic .

In Part 1 (June 9th), participants will be introduced to classic quilting patterns and guided through designing their own composition using fabric scraps and new materials. They will begin constructing their quilt top, focusing on layout, colour, and piecing.

In Part 2 (June 16th), participants will assemble, quilt, and finish their piece, learning essential construction and finishing techniques to complete a small quilted work.
