This generative workshop will encourage deep exploration of the stories and memories that have helped shape our lives. We will read and discuss two memoirs as examples of using prose to "show" the story through scene and description and to "tell" it through reflection. Texts include excerpts from The Glass Eye by Jeannie Vanasco and Heaven is a Place on Earth by Adrian Shirk. Cost: $60 JCC Members/$72 Program Guests. Includes all texts. Highlights:
Four- one hour sessions
Sessions will be divided between close-reading discussions, writing exercises and workshopping
