Strengthen your landscape and still life paintings by learning to simplify what you see and make more intentional decisions about composition, value, color, space, and light.
This class emphasizes the organization of complex subjects into clear shapes and value patterns, along with atmospheric perspective, color relationships, focal areas, edges, and the simplification of natural forms. Students may work from photographs, plein air studies, or other personal reference material and receive individualized guidance as their work develops.
Although landscape and still life is the primary focus of the Tuesday afternoon class, all subjects are welcome in every Creative Mastery class. Students may choose the class time that works best for their schedule and work in portrait, figure, landscape, still life, or another subject of their choice.
All levels and drawing and painting mediums are welcome.
