Creative Development Series: Spatial Audio Workshop

Spatial audio is a critical component of everything from gaming to simulation and training to immersive installations. Participants in this workshop will experience the creative possibilities of spatial audio using a multichannel speaker array. As part of this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring in their own field recordings (however samples will be provided), which will be spatialized during the workshop. Among techniques explored will be point-source panning, perimeter panning, and ambisonics.

This seminar is designed through creativity between the Institute for Creative, Arts, and Technology at Virginia Tech, Expressions at Amazon Arlington, and the City of Alexandria’s Office of the Arts.
