In this Valentine’s edition of our Introduction to Stamp Carving & Block Printing class, you’ll learn how to create your own rubber stamps and make cards with them.
Stamp carving is easy to learn, and a great way to make personalized stationery, textiles, and fine art prints. We’ll provide everything you need and take you step by step through the process from start to finish. Bring your own designs, or choose from some of our favorites (or both!)
The class will cover creating and selecting designs, how to transfer them to a carving block, cutting tools and techniques, basic inking and printing skills, repeating patterns, and ideas for using your stamps. We’ll focus our attention on printing greeting cards and envelopes, but you can make regular prints too.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with six greeting card sets (or prints), two stamps you’ve carved yourself, and a knowledge base you can build on for future printmaking projects.
