About the Artist
Shannyn is an artist with an eclectic background in art, design, sustainability, and environmental production. GRS stands for grass, rocks, and seawater - a tribute to the landscapes that inspire her work, from the sweeping prairies of southern Alberta to the nearby mountains and the rugged coastline of her second home on British Columbia's western shore.
One of the most delightful aspects of Shannyn's practice is her spirit of play. She rarely creates the same piece twice, instead finding fresh inspiration in new pottery techniques, colour palettes, textures, and forms. Every piece is truly unique.
Before fully immersing herself in ceramics, Shannyn spent 12 years working behind the scenes in live theatre, contributing to more than 100 productions. Today, she channels that same creativity into clay, crafting imaginative pieces inspired by nature, whimsy, and a touch of make-believe.
