About this Event
APA SF Presents Business Bootcamp + Creative Social Club
An afternoon and evening designed for business development and creative networking.
We’re introducing a Business Bootcamp, offering practical insights for creatives and entrepreneurs looking to strengthen the foundation of their approach to work and managing business essentials.
Biz Bootcamp Sessions, 2:00 - 4:30 PM :
• Richard Gunn, TCP Insurance — Business and Equipment Insurance for Creatives
A practical overview of the types of insurance creative professionals should understand to properly protect their work, equipment, and livelihood.
• Lupine Hammock + Sarah James — Creative Partnership
A conversation on building strong collaborative relationships — how creative partners align vision, position themselves with clients and grow together in sustainable ways.
After the Bootcamp, we’ll transition into happy hour and our Creative Social Club, the heart of the evening where conversation, community, and creative momentum take center stage.
Creative Social Club, 4:30 - 7:00 PM
An in-person happy hour and guided speed networking activity for creatives and professionals to connect beyond business cards — to spark ideas, exchange perspectives, and build relationships that actually last.
Whether you’re looking to hire new crew, find fresh inspiration, or simply meet good humans doing interesting work, this evening is about conversation, community, and creative momentum.
This playful and engaging experience is all about building up your village in a welcoming environment designed to introduce you to new faces or reconnect with familiar ones. Featuring our “Line of Connection” — a 30-minute guided speed-networking session designed to help you grow your village of referrals, potential new clients, collaborators, or creative teams.

About APA San Francisco
American Photographic Artists is a non-profit organization, activated by membership and dedicated to building resources and opportunities for the visual arts industry. While most notably supporting professional and emerging photographers, in recent years APA has broadened its support to include producers, crews, and motion / videography sectors.
We’re known for our creative-family feel — a place to know and be known — where we support one another in elevating our own careers and the industry at large. We aim for inclusivity, transparency, and shared resources.
About CAPITOL ART
Housed in one of San Francisco’s historic industrial buildings dating back to the 1930s, Capitol Art delivers a dramatic elevated-industrial vibe. Renovated into a bespoke event venue and photo studio, Capitol Art’s clean, modern aesthetic offers event planners, photo and video producers, and brands a blank canvas to realize their creative visions.
Since 2015 we’ve hosted product launches, photo and video productions, experiential events, and private gatherings in our unique 7,000-square-foot facility. Walking in from the street (if you can find us — we keep a low profile), you’ll be surprised by the airy, expansive interior and cozy accommodations.
With off-street vehicle access, a self-contained atmosphere, and thoughtful hands-on support from our small staff, we aim to make every event as magical as it is productive. Located just blocks from BART and steps from local coffee shops and dining, we’re proud to welcome you to the Mission District.
About TCP Insurance
Since 1974, TCP insurance has been creating innovative insurance and risk management solutions for the business community. In 2010, we established our foothold in the entertainment industry by pioneering a comprehensive insurance solution for the entertainment/media industry. Photographers, cinematographers and producers alike were introduced to an insurance solution that delivered unprecedented value. Over the years, we have expanded our repertoire of Entertainment Insurance products to Rental Houses, Studio Rental Facilities, and other creative business types throughout the United States.
The inflection point for our agency occurred in 2022 when we were acquired by Great American Insurance Group, a company we’ve maintained a strong partnership with for over 14 years. Great American & TCP – two companies that align in their rich history, trusted reputation, and a spirit for innovation and ingenuity.
As TCP celebrates its 50th anniversary, our commitment to providing the highest level of service, transparency, and value remains our top priority.
About Lupine Hammack Creative Studio
At our roots, we're a tight group of highly skilled friends who met through a shared love of San Francisco’s photo community. We’re creative, driven and have worked together (in all sorts of shapes and sizes) since 2010. We take our productions seriously and ourselves quite a bit less so. Our skill sets come from our backgrounds in advertising work and span photography, motion, production, and post production. We’re also firm believers in talking about our feelings and typically burn sage before every shoot.
