About this Event
The Creative Afternoons event series encourages artists and creatives to settle in, work on projects, meet new people, and share ideas in a relaxed environment. Bring your laptops, journals, ink pens, or anything you want to work with, and get ready to create and learn in community. This series supports connection and helps build a steady creative rhythm at the Center throughout the year.
Explore fine art printmaking during our hands-on workshop on March 12. In partnership with Mullowney Printing, participants will learn screen printing and related print techniques while creating their own pieces to take home. Most materials will be provided, including screens and printing supplies. Participants are encouraged to bring textiles, shirts, or paper they would like to print on.
We welcome people to join us for lunch starting at noon. Food will be provided by Wota Kitchen, a Portland based Native owned business led by Wyatt Miner and Torrie Eagle Staff (Lakota). The buffet menu will include wild rice bowls with smoked salmon or pan-seared chicken, fresh fruit, and vanilla maple cornbread. Complimentary coffee will be available from La Lucha and Portland Roasters. The printmaking workshop will run from 1 O’clock onwards.
Support for this event is provided by the City of Portland Office of Arts & Culture and the Mellon Foundation.
