Come bring something comfortable to lay down on and join Creations Heartbeat for this unique and immersive sound journey at The Well in West Asheville.
Based in the mountains of Western NC, Creations Heartbeat is the shared vision of Chris Welsh and Sean Mack who want to bring people a unique and elemental approach to a sound bath. The intention of this audible journey is to enter from a place of gratitude and to help the participants connect with the pulse of their own beating heart as well as the heartbeat of all that is in this world. With the presence of gratitude for our own unique likeness we can work towards coming to a place of appreciation for all life seen and unseen. To aid in this journey participants will be guided by the sounds of breath, bells, rattles, natural items (which may include leaves, bones, stones and wood), throat singing and the frame drum. In almost all parts of the world the drum has been an instrument that humanity has connected with more than any other. What do we do when we are children? We grab the nearest object and beat it against something else. The drum is the horse that carries the heartbeat of creation and its the drum that brings communities together in celebration with one another. Many of us resonate with it because we all carry our own drum inside our bodies. The heart is a living, breathing, drum that gives us life. The drums that we beat as instruments amplify that shared heartbeat.
About the Hosts.
Chris Welsh is a multi-instrumentalist and founder of the musical project Sun and Moon Dance that specializes in Medicinal and Nordic folk music. In response to the death of someone very close to him, Chris started writing music as a way to transmute the pain and grief of what he was experiencing into something beautiful. When he realized the music was affecting more people than just himself, the focus on medicinal music became a prominent part of his life. He started to study sacred sounds from around the world and different shamanic tools to incorporate into the music. Chris spent many years tending the land and to animals in the mountains of Western NC, which gave him the animistic lens that he carries throughout life. His purpose became a life of service to the living and the dying and to use music as a tool to bring healing to those who need it.
Sean Mack, also known as Ayan Kam, is an initiated shaman in the Spirit of Wolf tradition from Khakassia, Siberia. His Journey into shamanic healing began as a personal quest for healing following his military service. Through this work, he experienced profound healing and has since committed his life to helping others achieve the same, utilizing shamanic practices, sound healing, and massage therapy (NC LMBT 22176). Since 2013 Sean has actively engaged in animistic traditions and focuses on fostering a community built on gratitude, unity, ancestor veneration and connection with the land.
