About this Event

Creating Wet Felted Landscapes: a magical ancient technique with a modern twist!

In this workshop, you’ll learn to use coloured wool fibres and other surface materials to create unique wet-felted landscapes that can become wall art or be incorporated into clothing, pillows, etc.

We’ll start with making a “sampler” to work on basic felting techniques and experiment with surface fibres. Next, we’ll “paint” with wool fibre to create a felt landscape – the main project. We’ll follow a basic project design, although you may choose to be more adventurous if you wish. Fay will bring along some examples of other completed works and talk about additional techniques that you may want to try on your own such as stitching and beading and ways to use or display your work. Note that felting is fairly labour intensive and requires rolling your pieces on a table to create a dense felt

Fay will provide all the wool, surface fibres, and bubble wrap that you will need to make your piece.
