About this event

Fancy watching premiere screenings of unique short films championing unheard voices by award-winning female-led production companies, Candid Broads Productions, Kusini Productions & Track Films Ltd? Of course, you do.

This is an unashamed celebration of female focused narratives created by women (and those who identify as such) to empower and inspire others in the industry by showcasing the work of their peers and sharing candid experiences via our Q&A panel (panelists to be announced soon, watch the space!). The panel will be mediated by the one and only Lauren Lyle (Outlander, Vigil, Karen Pirie & Creator of 'She's a Rec').

So much incredible independent work was made by female identifying creatives this year bringing to the forefront outstanding game-changing content and narratives that need and deserve to be seen. This event will be a safe and accessible space to debate, inform, and motivate.

We are proud to be supporting The Page One Project a programme designed to offer support, guidance and empowerment to individuals who come from underrepresented backgrounds in the creative arts. The goal of this programme is to change the narrative - to stand with those facing adversity and work to ending those experiences altogether. It's time to take ourselves out of boxes, smash through glass ceilings, tell our own stories and create our own narrative.

Everyone will be here. Everyone. Celebrities, Talent, Crew, Press, you name it, you can network with it. This isn't just a sit and listen but an opportunity to engage, connect and collaborate. Don't just believe. Listen when we say: You need to be here.

About Kusini Productions

Kusini Productions Ltd is a platform established to create opportunities, change the narrative and champion voices of Black women and girls, founded by writer, actor, filmmaker and activist Cat White. It takes its name from 1976 American/Nigerian film Countdown at Kusini. This film was the first major motion picture ever produced by an organisation of Black women. No longer willing to accept the degraded images of Black people – and especially Black women – being foisted on them, they decided they would raise the money themselves, from among themselves, to make the kind of film they wanted to see.

In eighteen months, Kusini Productions has developed into an award winning company, recognised and featured in Variety, Metro, Thrive Global, Refinery 29, Women On Topp and We Are Entertainment. They have made six films – featuring Olivier, Emmy and BAFTA nominated and award-winning cast and crew – with another four in development. All of these films have a powerful voice and social conscience.

About Track Films Ltd

Track Films was created to give communities that feel they don't have a voice amongst society to be heard through film. Their first film ‘The Track’ focused around the hardship of living on the streets in the UK inspired by Ken Loach's I, Daniel Blake.

Track Films have produced 3 shorts this year with a feature in prep, Variety featured ‘The Track’, Rambler Man focusing on men’s mental health which has just featured in The Westmorland Gazette, Movie Metropolis featured The Ceiling with themes of the grey area of sexual consent and was Assistant Producer on Variety, Refinery 29 and Metro featured Fifty-Four Days which centres itself around a girl dealing with the suicide of her father and taking to open water swimming.
