About this Event

As cities grow increasingly expensive, artists, young people, and marginalized communities are often the first to be displaced from the places they helped make vibrant. Questions around affordability are no longer simply economic, they are cultural, emotional, and existential.

This panel explores the future of affordability in Calgary through the lenses of housing, density, infrastructure, innovation, and public life. How do we create cities that remain livable for artists, cultural workers, and emerging communities? What kinds of neighbourhoods encourage connection rather than isolation? And how might Calgary avoid reproducing the displacement cycles seen in larger global cities?
