Amassed a mountain of family photos? Overwhelmed by a relative’s estate? Harbouring a bounty of family history research?Archivist Tom Riley, from Dunedin’s Hocken Library, will discuss how an Archive decides what to collect, what it values most and what happens to material once it’s donated.
With tips on how to organise your physical and digital family archives for future generations, Tom attempts to answer the age-old question - “who will want all this?!”
Family records from the Invercargill Archives will be available for viewing, with a free tour of the archive facilities afterwards for those who wish.
