Description:
Join us for a fun, stress-busting morning! Flower Pounding is a craft for anyone – if you can wield a hammer, you can create botanical art. Learn the basics of how to select and prepare fabric, choose botanicals that yield the best results, and how to pound and create decorative art. We will supply: 1. Pretreated cotton tea towel; 2. Botanical materials; 3. “How To” Handout so you can continue to experiment at home. Materials you need to bring: 1. Hammer with a flat head; 2. Flat cutting board. Wood works best but other hard surfaces will work; 3. Ear plugs if you’re sensitive to loud noises. This is NOT a quiet craft!; 4. OPTIONAL: Any plant material you’d like to try. Relatively flat flowers or foliage with vibrant colors pound best. COST: $8, Limit 20 participants
