Cuplet Fern Florida Native Plant Society is showcasing a program on 'The Birds and The Bees: Creating Backyard Habitat' with Kristen Marshall Mattson at the Seminole IFAS Auditorium ? Who doesn’t love a backyard full of singing birds, fluttering butterflies, and colorful flowers? Learn how best to attract and support wildlife in your own backyard using native plants. Whether you already have extensive gardens and a long “life list”, or are just getting started, you’ll learn practical and science-based tips to make your yard more nature-friendly.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. The event is indoors.
We're planning on a potluck- please bring a covered dish???????????????
Native Plants will be available for donations towards the Seminole Natural Lands Children's EcoCamp????

Kristen Marshall Mattson is the director of the Gillespie Museum at Stetson University. She has been in the field of science education for more than fifteen years, with experience teaching both in the college classroom and informal environmental education programs for all ages as well as with citizen science research, project coordination, curriculum development, and fundraising.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and Spanish from Stetson University and a master’s in ecology from the University of Florida. Her emphasis is on plant ecology in the southeastern coastal plain and astronomy.
