Creating a Solo Exhibition: A Deep Dive from Project Creation to Exhibition

Have you ever wanted to know and learn what it takes to bring your project from the conceptual stage to a full solo exhibition?

Join us for a deep dive discussion with Arizona artist , as they present the full creative process of their solo exhibition at Eric Fischl Gallery at Phoenix College.

BrassTuna will guide attendees through the entire process, from initial concept and securing funding to the collaborative effort of directing and executing the physical exhibition presentation.

They will share discovering the journey of building authentic relationships with participants, developing the artistic vision through sketches and renderings, and the logistical challenges of developing material preparation and installation. The discussion will also cover strategies for community engagement and necessary/unnecessary materials for physical exhibition design.

The session will conclude with Q&A.

This public event is co-hosted by Artlink and AZPA during Art Detour, and will be held either in the mood room at Park Central or outdoors at Artlink’s courtyard depending upon registration.

About the Artist

aka Adam Corna (b. 2000) is a Phoenix, Arizona-based visual artist exploring Chicano and Latin culture in the 21st century through photography, mask making, sculpting, sewing, and painting. Their work emphasizes community building and is informed by the ongoing exploration of photographic concepts and techniques. BrassTuna's exhibition debut was in 2023 with 'Jardin De Flores' at ALAC, followed by their first solo exhibition in November 2025 at the Eric Fischl Gallery, supported by the Artists to Work Grant.
