Come learn about a free will-creation platform now available to our community. The Community Foundation will provide an overview of FreeWill, an online tool that helps you create important legal documents at no cost.
In addition to preparing a legal will, FreeWill also offers tools to help you plan for situations where you may become unable to make decisions for yourself. Through the platform, you can create documents such as advanced healthcare directives and durable power of attorney forms, which allow you to name someone you trust to make medical or financial decisions on your behalf if you are ever incapacitated.
During this session, we’ll explain how the platform works, what documents you can create, and how these tools can help you and your family be prepared. You’ll also learn how you can include a gift that supports nonprofits or causes you care about. FreeWill is completely free to use, private, and designed to be simple even for first-time planners. Most people complete their documents in under an hour, depending on their personal situation.
