2 Hour event | $40 per person

Invest in your creativity and join us for a smudge pot workshop! We will be creating smudge pots out of a material called Hypertufa.
We will be learning about the history of Hypertufa. Its uses are only limited by your imagination.
For this class, we will be creating a palm sized smudge pot which can be used for holding incense and smudging. Hypertufa is naturally fire resistant which makes it a a perfect medium for burning smudge and incense.
As we create our smudge pot we are reminded that the creative life force energy we put into creating our tools empowers them to be holders and helpers in the rituals and ceremonies for which they are created.
All supplies will be provided for creating your hypertufa project with the exception of any paints or stains you may want to use at a later date. However, staying or painting is not necessary as Hypertufa also looks beautiful in its natural state.
You will receive a detailed instruction sheet which will provide the steps for completing your hypertufa pot. Hypertufa needs a curing process which you will complete at home.
Alice Hurst is a dabbler in all things creative. She is also a yoga teacher, author, and shamanic practitioner. She completed a 200 YRT Hatha inspired Yoga teacher training in 2019 and received a Yoga Nidra certification in 2021. She recently completed a shamanic apprenticeship program at Chacana Center with roots in the Peruvian Q’ero lineage.
Her own physical and emotional recovery from a life threatening accident was not only the catalyst for her book, Upside Down Rainbow, but also for her journey into the world of mindfulness practices, yoga and shamanism.
