Workshop Overview:
Join us for a fun and engaging workshop where you'll draft your very own elastic A-line skirt pattern from scratch! This easy, relaxed fit skirt is perfect for summer, making it an ideal project for beginners looking to enhance their sewing skills.
What You Will Learn:
- Measure & Cut: Learn how to take accurate measurements and create a basic A-line skirt pattern tailored to your fit.
- Fabric Handling: Understand fabric grain alignment and how to cut out your garment using the fold pattern technique effectively.
- Sewing Techniques: Gain hands-on experience with garment construction and learn how to sew an elastic waistband for a comfy fit expertly.
- Finishing Touches: Master essential techniques for finishing seams, hemming, and adding your personal flair to your new skirt.
Included in the Workshop:
- All necessary sewing machines and equipment will be provided, including scissors, pins, bobbins, and threads.
- Please bring at least 2 meters of your chosen fabric! We recommend lightweight materials such as cotton poplin, linen, viscose, or rayon for people who are not familiar with stretch fabrics. Feel free to get creative and upcycle old bedding, too!
- A limited selection of fabrics will be available for those who need it.
- You will leave with your own completed elastic A-line skirt and the pattern to create more at home!
