Create Your Own Ceramic Birdhouse

Create a beautiful one-of-a-kind birdhouse by hand!

In this class, participants will learn how to hand-build using slabs to make a functional birdhouse. After constructing the house, you will attach decoration to embellish the bird’s home sweet home. This class will be a hands-on, step-by-step process. Supplies: All supplies available, but feel free to bring any stamps or small cookie cutters you may want to use to incorporate any designs. 

Once completed, the teacher will let the creation cure for a couple of weeks and then fire it. Your piece will be completed within 4-6 weeks.

From there, you will have two options:

1. Your birdhouse will be dipped in glaze and fired again to create a beautiful white birdhouse ready for display.
2. The birdhouse will come back unglazed. From there, you can decorate the birdhouse any way you’d like (paints, markers, collage etc), and then you will seal it with a brush or spray-on sealer. Additional instructions will be given.

Originally from the creative hub of New Jersey and having spent many years in Southeast Florida, she now calls Chattanooga home. Drawing inspiration from stories and fantastical worlds, she transforms clay into magical pieces and brings characters to life with heavy-bodied paint. Her formal art school training sharpened her skills and deepened her love for crafting imaginative, colorful works that capture the wonder of her artistic vision.
