During the months of July & August, I'll be the artist-in-residence at The Storefront, an exhibition space on the first floor of the Broward County Main Library, downtown Fort Lauderdale. I've been making a lot of art, continuing my recent theme of "Our Loving World: a celebration of South Florida's Edible & Medicinal Plants" -- including a big wood pedestal in the shape of a Simpson's stopper, big cutouts of local wild & cultivated fruits, cardboard sculptures of plants, and a lot more. (All with funny faces, of course.) Also there will be a large plant identification game on one wall -- you can win a sticker or a poster :) There will be a space where you can share information about food growing and recipes.For the two months, you can see the exhibit through the large glass walls. The following dates are scheduled to be open, so come on by! (I'll also likely be there at other times too.) There will be tables with activities like coloring, seed exchange, and making nature journals. All free. Made possible with support from the Broward County Cultural Division.
If you like, please bring seeds and plant cuttings to share. Also cardboard 9"x12" or larger (for nature journals). Thanks!
