EVENT OVERVIEW
Many ministers feel the weight of a culture increasingly disconnected from community. Many people are also afraid of gathering people because growing polarization makes the possibility of uncontrolled conflict its own danger.
Join best selling author and community-building expert Charles Vogl for a transformative day presented for congregational ministry leaders. Drawing from his award winning books, including The Art of Community, Charles shares wisdom rooted in his study of spiritual traditions spanning over 1,000 years and across the globe. By uncovering what makes long-standing faith communities truly endure, Charles distills timeless, practical wisdom to help you cultivate strong connections, deepen commitment, and strengthen congregational bonds. Walk away with actionable tools to better support your members and build a community that stands the test of time.
Participants will:
- Recognize how intentionally extended invitations powerfully grow connection before someone ever walks through your doors.
- Learn how to design intimate, meaningful gatherings that move - people from casual attendees to emotionally connected members, with shared experiences that bind congregations together for years.
- Recognize the importance of intimate experience in creating trust.
- Understand how to reveal the powerful and generous community bonds that often remain hidden and unrecognized within a group for years.
AGENDA
The day will cover the following modules:
- Defining Community with Intention
- Recognizing the Contemporary
- The Power of Invitation
- Intimate Experiences (Campfires)
- Acknowledgement and Recognition
