"Create Boulder Nights" is a new quarterly event series taking place at eTown Hall, introducing the community to the diversity of performing arts in Boulder in a fun and exciting social setting.
The evening will feature performances from musicians, actors and filmmakers.
Happy Hour with drinks and bites from eTown Café will be included.
The goal of the series is to enjoy a Happy Hour with local artists and introduce community members to performances they may not otherwise experience.
Throughout the evening, each participating organization will share a short performance or presentation, offering a preview of the music, theater and film that make Boulder’s arts community so vibrant.
Taking part in the first event will be The Boulder Philharmonic, Boulder International Film Festival, The Local Theater Company and Cultural Caravan.
Inspiring audiences with live musical experiences that transcend tradition, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra has been a vital part of our cultural landscape for 68 years. They are deeply committed to artistic excellence and education, and are dedicated to the belief that the community is made stronger and more vibrant by experiencing great music together.
At "Create Boulder Nights," the Boulder Philharmonic String Quartet will explore the roots, resilience, and rhythm of jazz composers.

Named one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” in the world by MovieMaker Magazine, the Boulder International Film Festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to Boulder for a four-day celebration of the art of cinema. This year’s April 9-12, 2026 festival presents 70 films from 28 countries, with 65% of features and 80% of shorts by women filmmakers, and 15 films by Colorado filmmakers.
At the event, the Boulder International Film Festival will present a rare pre-festival screening of the 2026 BIFF short film Retirement Plan. The seven-minute film from Ireland, directed by John Kelly and nominated for a 2026 Academy Award, stars Domhnall Gleeson as Ray, a man dissatisfied with his daily routine who dreams about the beauty and freedom he imagines will arrive when work finally ends.

Local Theater Company discovers, develops, and produces exceptional new plays and theatrical works, providing artists a fertile environment to grow their work and cultivate audiences for new plays by including them in all stages of new play development. Local Theater Company believes theater is a local experience and that when you elect to join an audience, you create a new community where, for that brief span of time, everyone is a local.
At the event, Local Theater Company will present a performance from acts of faith. Set between the African Copperbelt and the backwoods of Canada, the play follows Faith, a young woman who is mistaken for a prophet. When a revered member of the community attempts to exploit her situation, Faith turns the perception of her powers into a force for justice, using her supposed gifts to punish the wicked and restore hope.

Founded in 2021, the Cultural Caravan integrates high-level performance into the everyday life of a city — activating parks, bookstores, libraries, cafés, galleries and underserved public spaces through curated pop-up concerts as well as world-class MainStage experiences. Their year-round season draws together local artists as well as those from around the world in partnership with area businesses, municipal organizations and social-service nonprofits. The Caravan is grounded in the belief that diverse world-class artistry should meet people where they are — without compromising depth or quality. In just five seasons, the Cultural Caravan has become a thriving year-round organization offering a sustainable new civic model for arts-driven placemaking, showing how music can not only reflect a community but help reimagine its cultural and economic rhythms.
At "Create Boulder Nights," cellist Josh Halpern, the Cultural Caravan's Founder and Artistic & Executive Director, will be joined by three artists, all Cultural Caravan regulars: Alejandro Castaño (drums), Gabriel Santiago (guitar) and Gonzalo Teppa (bass). They will perform a few selections that highlight their varied musical backgrounds, including works by Bach and original compositions by Gabriel and Gonzalo.
