Create Authentic Professional Relationships Using Acting Technique

In today's business world you must be known, liked, and trusted by your clients, customers, and peers in order to maximize success. This is true whether you are an entrepreneur, an employee, or even when volunteering.

When trying to build professional relationships, we are too often "in our head," censoring our own thoughts and impulses for fear of standing out or making ourselves too vulnerable. We hide our true selves, thinking that we must conform to a certain archetype in order to do business. While we do need to follow certain social norms in our professional lives, there is plenty of room for us to bring our true selves to those interactions.

Join me as I teach you an adaptation of the Meisner technique, an approach to acting based on the practices of American teacher and actor, Sanford Meisner. You will learn how to develop your instincts, observation skills, and responsiveness in any business or personal setting. Meisner believed that if an actor could “get out of his head,” he or she would bring a new layer of realism to their performance. You can apply the same principles to your daily life, and the results will speak for themselves!

On Saturday, October 23rd, Pamela DeRitis will take you through an interactive, engaging workshop with exercises designed to strengthen your powers of observation and get you out of your head during key interactions. We will start to break down barriers that can dampen real human connections.

This class will require you to participate in exercises that will be out of your comfort zone and may elicit unexpected responses in you or others. This is GOOD!

Pamela DeRitis has been acting for over a decade and has landed lead and supporting roles in live theatre, web series, and independent films. Pamela is also a current active member of Atlanta-based comedy improv troupe CONVOY. Pamela bases her training on years of acting training using the Meisner technique and has adapted this technique to suit a business-oriented audience.

On the business side, Pamela spent many years as a Business Analyst at The Coca-Cola Company and more recently founded her own venture, Plant-based IQ. Pamela's goal is to educate her clients and the public about diet and disease and to teach how better eating habits lead to better health. Her business venture is a direct response to the health concerns of 2020 and the business has since taken off, with many podcast appearances, public speaking engagements and group coaching students. Pamela blends her love of acting with her acuity for business in this unique workshop only available to her students.
