Create and Connect: Truth and Reconciliation Day at MONOVA

On Reconciliation Day, programming at MONOVA will be offered free for families to gather and reflect. Many activities will be availible throughout the day for families to learn from together.

• Gallery tours, belongings and archival materials focusing on the history of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Səl̓ílwətaɬ First Nations
• Readings of children's stories exploring the history of residential schools
• Oral storytelling sessions of Coast Salish and Indigenous legends told by one of MONOVA's Indigenous Cultural Programmers
• Games on the themes of Indigenous rights in Canada and the history of residential school apologies will be available to play
• A self-guided activity sheet to encourage explorations of Indigenous history in MONOVA's galleries
• Space to write messages of hope and reconciliation on orange paper t-shirts and rocks for MONOVA's community display and garden
