Create an Altar out of Clay (Slab-Building) 10/25 from 7-9pm

In this clay workshop, you'll learn all of the beginner essentials for slab building, a hand-building technique. You'll be guided through each step with demos, instructions, and personalized tips in an encouraging space! Please consider what is important for your altar, what you need for it, or what problems you'd like to resolve. The goal is to personalize this for you and your practice!

The goals for the night are to explore a new art form, have fun, and make something with your hands! Ceramics is one of the most meditative mediums as it connects us with ourselves, the earth, and all elements. Go ahead and enjoy a night out full of good vibes, goofiness, and mud! :)

Your pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 2-weeks after the event (or can be shipped to you for a small added fee). Pottery/ceramics needs to be fired in a kiln twice (once for bisque and the second for glaze) which takes multiple days. Once glaze fired the pieces will be non-toxic and safe to use for drinking, and eating; they can be put in the dishwasher and microwave but NOT in or on the stove. Both firings are included in the workshop fee and you get to pick how you want your piece to be glazed (colored) in the end!

Classes and workshops are open to anyone over the age of 10 years old, any person under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
