About this Event
Day One | Create-A-Creature: Pirates, Mermaids & Sea Creatures
In this session we will start with a group discussion following along in our workbooks about local nautical folklore, famous pirates, mermaids, other mythic sea monsters and aquatic creatures from children's literature, fairytales, adventure fiction, and modern media (film, TV, and video games). Followed by an Art-Making activity where we craft our own Nautical Creature and bring their personalities to life with Creative Writing Prompts.
Storytelling Summer Camps are intended for ages 8-12 years old | All skill levels are encouraged
Workshop Registration: $40/per child*
Workshop Agenda
- 30 minute Group discussion
- 1 hour Creature Art Making Activity
- 15 minute Snack Break
- 1 hour Creative Writing Prompts
- Group share with remaining time
Participants will receive a curated Summer Camp Workbook that will include topics from our group discussions, reference materials, and additional writing prompts to continue creating at home!
Art Making Activity includes a ready-to-display canvas. We will use mixed media materials (marker, crayons, colored pencils, scrap paper and other embellishments will be provided).
It is encouraged that participants bring a packed lunch for our snack break; there is no refrigerator so please plan accordingly .
Limited refreshments and Grab-and-Go Snacks will be available. Please indicate when registering if you and/or any participants joining you have any food allergies.
* For any children that may need additional assistance of a parent/adult guardian for art-making or creative writing activities, one adult admission can be added with the purchase of at least one child workshop registration. When checking out, select the complimentary Adult Assistance add-on.
The Mother Crewe Naturals Shop & Studio is located at 11 Memorial Dr. in Downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The studio is located on the 2nd floor with stair access at the front of the building and rear entrance (from the memorial hall parking lot). Please contact the host prior to the workshop to coordinate access to the wheelchair lift on the first floor.
Parking is available nearby in Downtown Plymouth. The closest being the Memorial Hall lot behind Mother Crewe Naturals.

No Refunds
If you are unable to attend the Storytelling Summer Camp Session, please notify the host by the end of day of July 6th to receive a voucher for a workshop of equal or lessor value or to discuss a ticket transfer to an upcoming workshop with open registration. No shows without contact will not receive a voucher.
If the host cancel the workshop for any reason (severe weather, illness, etc.), all participants will receive a full refund within 24 hours of workshop cancellation. You'll receive an email from [email protected] with information about your refund, or I can provide a ticket transfer upon request.
