The Cream of Kentucky brand was originally introduced in 1888 by I. Trager & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Just prior to the end of Prohibition, the brand was acquired by the famed Schenley Company and subsequently re-introduced in 1934. Through the 1930s and 1940s Cream of Kentucky grew to become one of the leading bourbon brands, with renowned artist Norman Rockwell providing much of the award-winning artwork for the brand during its heyday.
After leaving Four Roses, legendary distiller, Jim Rutledge, relaunched the Cream of Kentucky brand. They now have a nice lineup of releases, with more coming soon.
Our featured speaker will be Stephen Camisa, the former VP of International Sales with Sazerac. Steve has some crazy stories about Buffalo Trace, the antique collection and travels with Elmer T. Lee.
We may also taste other whiskeys from their portfolio including Signal Hill (Dan Akroyd's brand) or Kentucky Par. They're even considering having us taste some samples and provide input on the next Cream of Kentucky release!
Of course we'll have tasty food and awesome door prizes, as always.
