Cranksgiving is a unique, family-friendly biking event in Baton Rouge that combines cycling, a scavenger hunt, and charitable giving. This special event, formerly hosted by Bike Baton Rouge and currently supported by them as a sponsor, invites participants to cycle through the city to collect food and essential items for donation to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Riders will travel to local grocery stores, spending around $30 on items for donation, contributing to a meaningful cause during the holiday season. This year, there will be a special family group ride, perfect for families with young children. This ride will visit only one location and will be led by an expert rider, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Riders must bring their own bikes, and it is important to note that children under the age of 12 are legally required to wear helmets.
The event is free to enter, but participants cover the cost of their donations. Please remember that this is an at-your-own-risk event. To show your support and make a further impact, you can purchase the official Cranksgiving shirt at www.downtowneastsocialride.com/store. For each shirt sold, $2 will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Join in the ride, have fun, and give back to the community!
