About this Event
What is Crankin' Engines?

Crankin' Engines is an exciting and engaging 3-day camp (4 hours each day) that provides students with a hands-on approach to learning about small engines. During this camp, students will have the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble an engine, allowing them to gain an understanding of its inner workings and how it operates. This camp is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about engines and mechanical systems.

What Are the Benefits?

Learning about small engine mechanical operations can be a great way to spark creativity and open a child's mind to future opportunities. With the right skills and knowledge, kids will be inspired toward entrepreneurship and perhaps even operating a home-based business.

Our Four Stroke Internal Combustion Engine Curriculum is an incredibly informative and hands-on Applied Science. Students have the opportunity to explore the scientific theory behind the combustion engine, as well as engage in the practical exercise of taking apart and reassembling an engine.

What Will They Learn?

This camp offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain a strong understanding of the mechanics of the combustion engine and gain valuable technical skills. At the end of this camp, students will be able to:

  • disassemble and reassemble a Briggs and Stratton engine
  • grasp basic principles of chemistry, physics, geometry, and even a little biology
  • describe engine components and the basic four-stroke engine operation
  • explore engines and fundamental mechanical principles
  • understand proper tool usage
