About Crank That Comedy

Do you remember the euphoria of downloading a song off limewire and not ruining your family’s computer? The laughter you let out from clicking on your favorite song and it just plays crank that Soulja boy? Grace Johnson, Niles Abston, and Zae Jordan are bringing that feeling back!

GRACE JOHNSON is a Nigerian New Yorker and a rising star in comedy, recently named one of the New York Comedy Festival’s 2023 “Comics to Watch” and a finalist in New York’s Funniest 2024. With a comedy special on Don’t Tell Comedy and a finalist spot at the Big Sky Comedy Festival, Grace makes audiences laugh coast to coast. In 2023, she was crowned the Bell House Newcomer, and her sharp, delightfully nerdy perspective—what she calls “Glasses Comedy”—invites you to see the world through her witty, unapologetic lens. Johnson was a Just For Laughs “New Face” in 2025, and currently cohosts the “CRANK THAT” Comedy Show, a monthly comedy event showcasing a mix of established and emerging talent.
NILES ABSTON has had success as a stand up comedian, as a writer and as a filmmaker. In stand up, he was named a 2024 Netflix is a Joke festival headliner after having Comedy Central's most viral stand up bit of 2022 and being a Vulture Magazine Comedian To Watch. As a writer, his Season 3 episode of FX's DAVE was named one of the Hollywood Reporter's 10 Best TV Episodes of 2023 and his 2022 directorial debut "NOTICE TO QUIT" was named by Vulture Magazine as the "best comedy short we’ve seen in the past couple of years." He recently starred in and produced the award winning short film “‘98 Honda” that won top comedy at HAHA Fest and has been officially selected by Montclair Film Festival and Bushwick Film Festival. Niles is currently a writer on Season 4 of Dan Harmon's animated series "Krapopolis" on FOX.
ZAE JORDAN is a writer, stand-up comedian, actor, and artist. He’s the co-creator of Lil Daddy, Buster & TJ, Camp Bucktooth, and Spooky Dreams, all featured on Adult Swim Smalls. He was also a featured performer/writer for CBS Showcase '23 and has appeared in Issa Rae’s Rap Sh!t, Donald Glover’s Swarm, Jordan Peele’s Scare Tactics, and CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful.
