Craftivism1: Washcloth on a Mission

Grab your radical besties for a righteous knitting circle, intro to knitting, history of Craftivism.

In this 2-hour workshop you will get:

  • Instruction on how to knit the F*ck Trump washcloth
  • 100% cotton yarn & knitting needles to knit the project to completion
  • Written pattern
  • And you get to keep your yarn and needles so that you can finish your washcloth at home

You'll also gain:

  • An understanding of how activist movements have used and continue to use crafting in their mobilizing work from Buffalo Makers Hub founder Julie Carter.

Your knitting teacher, Hilary Lochte will:

  • guide you through the project
  • teach you how to fix dropped stiches
  • and get us all into a righteous knitting circle!

This workshop is for beginners. No prior knitting experience needed.

The venue, Burning Books, is THE center for amazing and radical books, zines, how-to manuals and fun merch. Burning Books located on Buffalo's west side, is fully accessible but does not have a restroom for public use.

Free parking is available on the street.

Due to the nature of the project, youth 14-17yrs are welcome with parent or guardian.
