Crafting Party Project: Stitch Sampler Book & Historic Needlepoint Techniques
To help broaden the crafting skillset of our members across new mediums, we will be holding a crafting party focused on hand stitching and needlepoint. Fabric manipulation is a critical part of any costume build, even those focused primarily on armor.
Guest artist, Amber Heck of Sunblade Cosplay will be leading this workshop. This is a beginner friendly project with room for experienced stitchers to enjoy as well. We will be making stitch sampler books that also serve as needle books.
All necessary supplies will be included in the event cost, no need to bring anything unless you would prefer to bring your own fabric. Participants will receive sewing needles and a thimble to use during the workshop and take home afterward, along with printed project instructions and stitch references.
The first part of the event will focus on creating the stitch sampler books using hand sewing techniques, with the second part focusing on embroidery, both decorative and functional.
Cost for this event: $20 total ($10 for materials, and $10 donation for legion costs as described below)
In addition to the event materials cost, in order to help support The Ebon Legion’s growing needs, we’ll now be asking for a $10 donation per session, in addition to any project material costs. These funds will go directly toward things like tools and supplies for the Legion toolboxes, and helping offset
accommodations costs for Invasions.
