Foster your creativity and resilience while learning a new kind of craft every month. This month we are delighted to welcome Lyttelton based stitcher and artist Sue Ellen Sandilands.
Sue Ellen has been an instrumental figure in the Lyttelton community with projects such as Lyttel Stitches, the Lyttelton Timebank Welcome Bags and the Lyttelton Community Gardens.
Lyttel Stitches was created in response to the Canterbury earthquakes. Sue Ellen and Bettina Evans set up a drop-in space where they invited members of the community to make little hearts from bits and pieces of felt and fabric and handed them out to people passing by. Sue Ellen’s work is held by Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand in Wellington.
Drop in, relax and enjoy some 'me' time as you explore a new craft every month. From jewelry making, to origami, card making, notebooks, mending, embroidery and much more.
Make a note in your diary to join us on the third Saturday of the month. No need to bring anything as all materials will be supplied.
Free, no bookings required.
