About this Event

John Lee Hooker Legacy Bourbon Tasting at Fixins Soul Kitchen

As part of the 40 Acres Black History Month Programming, Fixins Soul Kitchen invites you to an intimate bourbon tasting experience celebrating legacy, music, and craftsmanship.

This special evening features John Lee Hooker Legacy Spirits, a mission-driven, Black family-owned brand founded by the blues icon’s daughter and grandson. Each pour tells a story rooted in history, culture, and the preservation of John Lee Hooker’s legendary musical legacy.

Guests will sample selections from the Boogie Chillen’ Bourbon collection, including award-winning expressions crafted in collaboration with Bardstown Bourbon Company. Expect rich notes of caramel, crème brûlée, baking spice, toasted nuts, and mellow oak—bourbons that honor the soul and rhythm of the blues.

More than a tasting, this experience highlights how Black-owned spirits continue to shape culture while giving back, with proceeds supporting music and arts education through the John Lee Hooker Foundation.
