About this Event
Are you creative in your 20s, looking and looking to make new friends? Interested in attending more crafty events? Come on out to our Craft, Mix & Mingle event!!
The 905 Circle is hosting a Craft, Mix & Mingle event in collaboration with Hamilton-based multidisciplinary artist and creative, Reishi Waldman (@reishsrealm), at Cafe Cumbia (located within the Cotton Factory).
Our Craft, Mix & Mingle is an interactive, crafty social to get 20-somethings to connect with others through hands-on crafting. This event is parts-speed friending event, crafting club and social mixer. We designed it to be all three. It’s a way for you to unwind on a sunday afternoon, connect with new people through different creative activities.
What To Expect
Attendees will through rotate through three DIY craft tables (rings, bracelets, collaging) with a new group of people at every turn. We'll provide the supplies and instructions for each craft, you provide the creativity and willingness to connect! Every 40 minutes, we'll hit the reset button and you'll be at a new table crafting and socializing with a whole new group of people.
You'll leave the event with three handmade pieces and new connections 👀

About Your Facilitators
Chinenye K .(she/her) is a writer, poet, social worker, arts-facilitator and community organizer based in Oakville, ON. She is the Founder & Creative Director of The 905 Circle, a grassroots creative collective for 20-somethings based in the 905 region. She created The Circle as a way to create more third spaces and creative opportunities for young adults based outside downtown Toronto - due to the scarcity of third spaces within the region. She is passionate about giving back to her community and is interested in how creativity and community intersect. It’s the foundation of the work she does.
Reishi Waldman (she/they) is a multi-faceted creative and artist based in Hamilton, ON. She takes pride in her many passions, including community care, creation, and connection. Her art and work are inspired by community, nature, intersectional feminism, love and self-love, body-positivity, queerness, and radical joy. They started their small business, Reishi’s Realm, in 2024, in which she focuses on sharing her art with the world, fostering connection, and engaging with her community through markets, social media, community events, and more ventures.

- Step-by-step instructions for each craft to help during the creation process
