Join us this winter for the Smithfield Crafting Guild, a new pilot program at Historic Smithfield designed to bring local makers together in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Bring your knitting, embroidery, sketchbook, sewing, or any portable craft project and enjoy time creating and connecting in the historic cellar of Smithfield.The cellar was once a workspace for the plantation’s enslaved workers, whose skilled labor shaped this site. As we gather to make together, we do so with respect for the history of this space and the hands that once worked here.

• Informal, self-led crafting
• All skill levels welcome
• Bring your own project
• Occasional guest artisans or skill-sharing sessions
• A cozy, creative atmosphere rooted in history
