About this Event
CRAB
Crabs do not grow steadily. Their shell cannot expand — to grow, they must break it open and leave it behind. In this fragile in-between state, the old armor no longer protects, and the new one has not yet hardened.
CRAB is an exhibition exploring this moment of transition — the tension between pressure and release, containment and emergence.
The installation combines photography, video, sound, objects and light to create an immersive environment. The work is developed together with dancer @shannonwalshi , whose live performances expand the work into physical space.
Rather than offering resolution, the exhibition stays with the in-between — with fragility, uncertainty, and movement.
About the artist:
Charlotte Hansel is a Berlin-based visual artist whose work centers on perception, emotion and the human psyche. Moving between image, text and spatial formats, she explores how personal experience intersects with social structures and collective narratives. Her projects often emerge from research-based processes and material experimentation.
